Simple, but life changing

This week, we received a lovely thank you card from a very satisfied patient. 

Over a year ago, it was necessary to remove a lower molar tooth as it had developed a fracture leading to a dental abscess.  The patient had worn the same part metal denture to replace a number of lower teeth for over 40 years.  Unfortunately, the loss of this tooth resulted in the denture not fitting well and subsequently, the patient was unable to wear the denture and eat the foods he enjoyed.

We placed one dental implant in the position of the extracted tooth.  Three months later we constructed a new part metal lower denture, resembling as closely as possible the shape of the previous denture.  A locator attachment was added to the implant allowing the denture to clip securely on to the implant.

The result was a very stable, secure and aesthetically pleasing denture, which allows the patient to, once again, eat the foods he enjoys.
