Matthew starts Diploma in conscious sedation

On the 28th April 2017, I will be starting my Postgraduate Diploma in Conscious Sedation at Newcastle University.  I will be attending Newcastle University for lectures and clinical sessions over an 18 month period leading to a final examination.  One of only two centres for postgraduate conscious sedation training, I feel very privileged to have this opportunity and welcome the challenge.

Patients are often anxious about dental procedures, including dental implant surgery.  Whilst the majority of treatments can be carried out very comfortably using local anaesthetic alone, longer treatments can be more comfortable with the help of intravenous sedation.
